One Year!??!

Here it is. The day I knew, but secretly hoped would never come.
My little man is one.

With all of the party festivities complete, his birthday was a quiet and peaceful one with our little family of three. We started the morning off with his favorite breakfast- french toast. Since he doesn't eat sugar (I'm not counting of course when grandmas and aunts sneak him some here and there) so the cupcake with the candle tradition never grew roots. Instead, we stuck his little 1 candle in his breakfast toast.

He loved the flame. "Eww!" was all he could say.
When he tried to get to the toast, he found the candle to be somewhat intriguing. After we blew out the tiny little flame, he decided he'd just munch on that for a while. Once he realized that wax paled in comparison to yummy Jack Sprat Cinnamon French Toast, he forgot all about it.
We spent much of the morning together until Chase went hunting. Aunt Jenn came to visit (we love visitors!) and it was a quiet, enjoyable day.
May all of our birthdays be this serene, happy and enjoyable.
Here's to many more years to come with our little (but growing!) family.
