That's What Twins Are For

These two turned 7 this week.   

      

SEVEN!  Seven years ago they came into the world a little too early, but full of possibilities.  

It wasn’t always easy caring for two babies and a 16 month old.  I felt like I was constantly running a circus and would often look around waiting for the circus music to start any minute.  

There were other times where there was a lot of crying in our house- and not just from the babies.  They played together, entertained each other and generally got into trouble together.  

But somehow the days turned into months.  

They hit milestones together, 

Celebrated birthdays 

and Halloweens.

They experienced firsts together,

supported each other, 

and were there for each other when they got into sticky situations.

Some days they got along famously

while others they did not (“Mom! She’s touching me!”)

But somehow they always managed to go back to getting into trouble (yes, that’s them covered in poop!)

Still, after all of these years I hardly see them fight.  They still entertain each other, 

Though time has continued on, they still help each other be brave, 

and support each other when they have to say goodbye. 

They both have a strong love for animals, 

They love inventing new games 

and getting each other to try new things

Yes, they still get into trouble (but at least it’s not poop this time!) 

and experience firsts together. 

I’m so glad they have someone they get to go through life with.  
They are eternally tied together and after all, isn’t that what twins are for?
