Well, here we are! It's a day that always feels like it will never come but somehow sneaks right up on you when you least expect it. After Yes Day yesterday, the kids are finally ready to say goodbye to this year and hello to a busy and exciting summer!
Ava has grown a lot this year. She has picked up on reading more than ever and when she sets her mind to it, there is no stopping her! This year she and I went to Cinderella at Tuachaun together, she got to go stay a week in California with cousins and even attended a Princess Academy put on by another homeschool teen. She loves any type of cat, can always be seen helping others and doesn't care about stuff as much as she does about her friends. She is a gem and we are so glad she is ours!
Cash had a busy, exciting year! This year he really took off with reading grabbing chapter books, Pokemon and basically anything he can get his hands on. He still loves to be outdoors in trees, dirt or the mountains. He is funny, active and loves to play games like tag and sardines. Cash is silly, can burp louder than a grown man and has a heart of gold. He may be known as, "Cash Money" but we feel that WE have hit the lottery just getting to have him around.
Vance has turned into a real gentleman. He is the first to offer to help, is a very hard worker and often doesn't ask for anything in return. He has loved being outside- as made evident by the number of holes in his jeans- and loves anything dangerous or adventurous. He is a friend of nature and cares deeply for babies and animals. He can often be found giving kids backpacks (carrying them around) or trying out new sports. He is always happy and just being near him makes the rest of us happy too!
Kurt still surprises me at just what he can do. This year he has loved learning the game Pokemon and has decided to create his own game loosely based on that idea. He works on it often, coming up with amazing characters with incredible back stories. He is always looking for new ideas on how to publish his first story, "Attack of the Pizza" and can't get enough of coding and robotics. He is determined to start a business and earn money for his robots and I believe he can do anything he sets his mind to!
This little bugger keeps us on our toes. Though as he's gotten older, he's taken more care to not get hurt so much- it just means that he's able to do even more dangerous things, much to our chagrin. This year Grant has learned to write his name, knows quite a few of the letters and numbers and we just realized (because no one taught him!) that he can count to 100 by 10s. He listens intently to whatever we say and is really good at telling jokes. This year he learned to wink and everyone who comes by usually leaves with a charming twinkle. He is a handful, but we sure couldn't imagine our family without him!
I wish I could say this year was always this idylic....
But you know the truth- it was really more like this-
So happy last day of school, my little crazies. Now let's go and have even more adventures!
