Feast of Life

I sure love this guy of mine.  He makes life easy and fun and even though there are a mountain of things that I never expected we'd do together in this life, I'm more than happy to go through it wit him.  Take for example our 2nd annual Feast of Life.

Since Chase has gone vegan, Thanksgiving is a bit of a let down for him.  Last year we came up with the idea of doing a "Feast of Life" before Turkey day and making everything from living food.  The first year was great (Shay and her family came to join us and made it that much more fun!) but I have to say this year was even better!

We started the week off by putting up a Thankful calendar at Family Home Evening.  Throughout that week we all went over and added something we were thankful for.  By Wednesday, it was quite full!

Miriam flew in and Kale traveled down so we had lots of help in the kitchen.  We made so many goodies and finally (FINALLY!) mastered the coconut whip cool whip for the pies.  Cash and Grant hung out by the deserts for a little too long.  Cash told me, "Mom...take a picture of me NOT touching the desserts!" Gladly, my boy.

That's a lot to be grateful for!

The temptation was just too great.

Having Miriam back feels like life is back to normal.
We've missed her and our kitchen has missed her even more!

That's a lot of food!  All of the traditional Thanksgiving food but without any of the animal byproducts.  Let the Vegans (all 4 of them) rejoice!

So thankful for this rugrat group of mine!

Even despite his injury, he hasn't lost his appetite! His plate was just as full as ours.

Dig in, Girls!

Until next year, Happy Feast of Life!
