"What's this? What's this? There's magic in the air!"
We came home from a cold, wet week at Wintercount to find that our little patch of desert had magically transformed into a winter wonderland.
It was more snow than the kids have seen in a long time! The last time it snowed like this, Cash was just a baby. The twins were Grant's age and though they've seen the pictures plenty of times, they just don't have any memories of it.
Pretty quickly, the kids asked if we could cancel school and have a snow day. Little did they know I was way ahead of them! Not only did we play all morning in the snow (we still held our afternoon school as most of the snow was melting off anyway), but we also did a little snow science with it as well! By our calculations, we got close to 5" of snow in one night! As Chase says, it was a "Winter Wonderland miracle!"
We spent the morning making snow angels and making snow sculptures.
Some even army crawled through the snow and then opted to wear the pink gloves I had offered in the beginning but he had declined because they were "too girly".
As we were playing, Dad went inside and made us some yummy hot chocolate.
We took a much needed hot chocolate break and then got right back to the business of playing.
His cup may say he doesn't give a SIP, but I sure think he's the most handsome mountain man there is!
Thank you, Mother Nature for this break in our desert weather.
