Let's Toga!

Bad Greek Joke #1-
Have you seen the movies about Greek Mythology?
No?, well you odyssey them.

Tonight was our cummulating event for our little mini co-op, the "Curiosity Club".  We have been studying the ancient Greek and Romans in our separate homeschools and we decided to get together tonight to celebrate it.

We donned our best robes,

and imitated our best statues.

We decided to make this toga party in the evening so the dads could join us.
I'm so glad we did!
As you can see, they didn't get into character at all.

Besides dressing up, costumes and games, we also have a large greek feast.  Complete with grapes, olives, pita and hummus, spanakopita, feta dip, eggplant, wrapped grape leaves and chicken.  The Garner family supplied us with these authentic hand made greek vases they made togeher.

Bad Greek joke #2-
How do Greek women get ready for a toga party?
With A Hera appointment.

We had a great time together relishing in the greek way of eating, entertaining and celebrating.

The kids even demonstrated the true Greeks and paid homage
to their Greek God, Zeus.

We played the game, "Pin the Lightning Bolt on Zeus".
For some of these kids, it was the first time playing a game like this.
It was a hit.

We ate our feast outside, eating with our hands and enjoying each other's company.

Bad Greek Joke #3-
Who did Artemis invite to her birthday party?
Her nearest and deer-est friends.

"Let us feast!"

Bad Joke #4-

Where do ancient greeks keep all of their animals?

In Zeus! (zoos)
